VITA Program Site Coordinator/Housing Counselor
Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Central Florida & The Florida Gulf Coast, Inc. is a nonprofit and accredited organization dedicated to financial wellness. We strive to provide the finest professional financial counseling and education services available. But more importantly, we strive to build lasting relationships with our clients, so that we may better serve them on their path to financial wellness.
We are seeking a unique individual who can divide his/her time and expertise between two major functions:
VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program) Coordinator: (November through January)
Recruit and train volunteers to assure site is staffed with optimum number of trained, certified and qualified Recruit, assure training and certifications of, and oversee activities of volunteer staff who will assist clients. Adhere to and communicate program policies and procedure to volunteers, such as Title VI, Privacy and Confidentiality, and Quality Site Requirements. Develop and monitor Volunteer schedules. Ensure proper procedures, such as intakes and interviews are being followed. Ensure e-files are completed on time or that the taxpayer is contacted if rejects cannot be resolved. Adhere to all pre and post filing policies and procedures.
Housing Counselor
Explain counseling and scope of service and program to clients while counseling clients on their housing problems, which include but are not limited to pre-and post purchase housing counseling, delinquency and default counseling, reverse equity mortgage counseling and foreclosure/eviction intervention.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Tax and IRS laws, Housing background strongly preferred
- Experience motivating and training others
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, database input
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and/or trends and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to multi-task

Housing Counselor – Tampa, FL
CCCS has an opening for a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Housing Counselor to provide professional, personalized, confidential housing counseling to clients via face-to-face, telephone or internet. Housing counseling includes, but is not limited to: Pre and post purchase, delinquency and default, foreclosure/eviction intervention and reverse mortgage.
The selected candidate must have or be able to attain NFCC Counselor certification within 6 months of DOH and HECM certification within 12 months of hire date. He/she must also have demonstrated data entry skills, the ability to be sensitive to client needs, excellent communication and mathematical skills, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
